Asian markets briefing 08/05/2023

The majority of the Asian markets closed low with the Chinese main index, SSEC, dropping by -1.10 percent. The index lost 37.33 points to close at 3,357.67. It recorded a day high 3,418.95 and a day low value of 3,356.12.

Nikkei 225, Japan’s main index, rose by 1.01 percent to 29,242.82. It gained 292.94 points, recording a day high value of 29,262.36 and a day low value of 29,020.63.

HSI, Hong Kong’s main index, fell by -2.12 percent and lost 429.45 points to 19,867.58. The index recorded a day high value of 20,297.83 and a day low value of 19,817.78.
