Lower temperatures were expected in Egypt’s northern cities on Monday, with a six-degree drop in Cairo reaching highs of 27 degrees Celsius and lows of 24, state news agency MENA reported on Sunday.
The northern coastal cities of Alexandria and Marsa Matrouh saw highs of 26 and 25 degrees and lows of 21 and 20 respectively.
A lesser decrease in temperature was expected in Upper Egypt’s Luxor and Aswan during the day time, with highs of 35 and 37 degrees respectively, while a more significant drop is expected in the evening with lows of 23 and 24 respectively.
The Red Sea resorts of Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada experiences highs of 32 and 33 and lows of 25 and 24, respectively.
The touristic Sinai town of Saint Catherine saw colder weather with highs of 25 and lows of 17.
Moderately difficult navigation was expected on the Mediterranean and Red seas, with waves reaching 2 to 2.5 meters in height.
