Aviation incentive programme drives strong growth in Egypt’s tourist arrivals
Egypt’s Aviation Incentive Programme helped drive a surge in inbound tourism between May and September 2025, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said on Tuesday.
Tourism Minister Sherif Fathy, chaired a meeting of the Tourism and Antiquities Support Fund to review the programme’s performance, which aims to maintain and expand incoming tourist traffic to Egypt.
The ministry reported that flight numbers grew 24 per cent year-on-year during the period, while passenger volumes and available seats each rose 25 per cent, surpassing the programme’s targets.
Several popular destinations, including Alamein, Matrouh, Luxor, and Aswan, recorded significant increases, reflecting the impact of incentive packages designed to boost tourism arrivals.
The ministry said the programme forms part of Egypt’s broader strategy to strengthen its position as a leading tourism hub in the region.
