Bangladesh’s exports surge in Oct. ’24

Bangladesh’s exports surged to $4.13 billion in October 2024, a 20 per cent increase compared to the same month in the previous year, data from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) revealed on Monday.

The report added that ready-made garments, both knitwear and woven items, contributed significantly to this growth, generating over $3.3 billion in revenue, a 22 per cent increase year-on-year.

For the first four months of the 2024-25 fiscal year (July-October 2024), Bangladesh’s total exports amounted to $15.79 billion, an 11 per cent increase compared to the same period in the previous year.

The country has set an ambitious export target of $50 billion for the current fiscal year, with ready-made garments aiming to contribute $40.48 billion, according to the EPB’s report.
