Bank credit facilities increase 9 months – CBE

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) revealed on Monday that bank credit facilities increased to about 4.482 trillion Egyptian pounds in March 2023. The amount went up from last year’s 3.564 trillion pounds by 917.2 billion pounds.

The Central Bank said in its monthly report that credit facilities to government and non-government entities rose by 502.3 billion pounds or 37 percent and 414.9 billion pounds 18.8 percent, respectively.

According to the report, this increase is a result of the rise in liquidity of both local and foreign currencies by 65.5 billion and the equivalent of 436.8 billion pounds, respectively.
