There are many advantages to this service which include the possibility of making payments for individuals and institutions, simplification of the payment process, the avoidance of risk through direct payment from clients’ accounts, and receiving a receipt to validate the payment. Additionally, this service is provided to the bank’s clients as well as non-clients through a large number of payment outlets, which provide a fast and secure way for individuals to make their payments without committing to the district they belong to, thereby achieving decentralization in tax collection. Moreover it is also possible to inquire about the tax figure at the location, and eliminate the risk of carrying around large sums of money.
As for the tariff payment service, Banque Misr had been the first to provide this service electronically since December 2005. Clients can inquire about tariff charges incurred upon them personally or upon their institutions and then make the payments through the bank’s branches that provide the service, and have it instantly reflected on their tariff information
