Badr El-Din Petroleum (BAPETCO) has made a new natural gas discovery in the Badr–15 area of Egypt’s Western Desert, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said on Saturday.
The discovery, made through the BED 15-31 well, has been added to the production map with a daily output of 16 million cubic feet of gas and 750 barrels of condensate.
The ministry said the find is expected to add 15 billion cubic feet of gas to Egypt’s reserves. It was located in the Lower Marine reservoir, which is now being reassessed to identify optimal sites for future drilling, aiming to boost production and maximise recoverable gas resources.
