Dr Bassem Auda, Egyptian Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, said that as to 66700 newborn babies, from 2006 to 2011, were listed on the ration cards.
Auda elaborated that the data of nearly 104.000 ration cards were adjusted via the government’s website. Also, the data of 135.000 citizens on the ration cards were adjusted in addition to delete 1951 citizens from the ration cards.
It is worth mentioning that the electronic registration of the newborn babies started last Saturday, and will last to four months.
