Bitcoin surges on Monday

Bitcoin climbed 0.95 per cent on Monday at 7:36 am. ET (12:36 GMT) to reach $90,726.99.

Over the past five days, the cryptocurrency has gained 11.75 per cent, while its year-to-date performance soared by an impressive 112.58 per cent.

This recent surge highlights Bitcoin’s ongoing momentum in the market, fuelled by investor optimism about the incoming administration’s pro-crypto stance.

President-elect Trump has vowed to establish the US as the “crypto capital of the planet” and build a national Bitcoin reserve.
