A maintenance train was derailed early Saturday in Egypt’s Suez governorate when a bomb exploded on the railtracks. No one was injured.
The derailed train was removed from the tracks and railway movement resumed, Al-Ahram arabic website reported.
Police investigations revealed that the bomb was targetted at a passenger train heading to Ismailia.
The incident was reported to the Suez prosecution.
Halts in railway services due to planted bombs have been common in the last year and a half since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
