Brazil’s retail sales continue positive trend in Oct. ’24

Brazil’s retail sales sector maintained its positive momentum in October 2024, posting a 2.1 per cent year-over-year increase, marking a 16th consecutive month of growth, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics reported on Tuesday.

The accumulated year-to-date retail sales growth reached 4.8 per cent, while the 12-month rolling figure stood at 3.9 per cent, the report showed.

In the broader retail sector, which includes vehicles, motorcycles, construction materials, and food and beverage wholesale, sales volume increased by 1.8 per cent in the seasonally adjusted series and 3.9 per cent in the non-seasonally adjusted series.
