BREAKING: Egypt names 10 ministers in cabinet reshuffle

A new ministry for information is back

Egypt announced a cabinet reshuffle on Sunday, which saw the replacement of several key ministers, the merging of some ministers, and the return of the information ministry.

The country’s parliament later approved the cabinet reshuffle.

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli will be also in charge of the investment and administrative reform portfolios.

Rania al-Mashat, who was minister of tourism, takes the international cooperation minister post, replacing Sahar Nasr. Khaled Anani was appointed tourism and antiquities minister.

Head of the Culture and Antiquities Committee of the House of Representatives Osama Heikal was appointed minister of state for information. Banking veteran Sayed El-Kosayer was named agriculture minister.

Nevine Gamea takes on the post of trade and industry minister after serving as head of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (MSMEDA).

Hala el-Saeed has become minister of planning and economic development.

Other appointments included Omar Marwan as minister of justice, Mohamed Manar minister of civil aviation, Nevine Kabbage minister of social solidarity, and Alaa Fouad minister of parliamentary councils.
