British cumulative investments in Egypt hit $21.5b in June ’24 – minister
The cumulative British investments in Egypt reached $21.5 billion by June 2024, said Hassan El-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade on Sunday. These investments span various sectors, including petroleum, financial services, communications, and industry.
Minister Al-Khatib made these remarks during a meeting with John Humphrey, UK Trade Commissioner for Africa. The meeting focused on strengthening trade and investment relations between Egypt and the United Kingdom.
The Egyptian minister emphasised the importance of the economic relationship between the two countries, noting that the UK is one of Egypt’s top trading partners. Bilateral trade between Egypt and the UK reached approximately £2.8 billion in 2023.
