Cambodia’s construction sector reported an 8 per cent decline in investment throughout the first half of 2024, reaching $2.53 billion, as per a government report. The number of approved projects also fell by 11 per cent to 1,642.
These projects encompassed a diverse range of developments, including new towns, housing projects, condominiums, industrial and commercial facilities, tourism resorts, and hotels.
The construction and real estate sectors play a crucial role in Cambodia’s economy, serving as one of its four pillars alongside garment, footwear, and travel goods exports, tourism, and agriculture.
