Cambodia exported a total of 412,023 tons of milled rice during the first eight months of 2024, generating revenue of $305 million, according to the Cambodia Rice Federation on Thursday.
Fifty-three companies were involved in exporting milled rice to 65 countries and regions during this period. China remained one of the key buyers, importing 77,792 tons of Cambodian milled rice, valued at nearly $48.9 million.
The exported rice included fragrant rice, white rice, parboiled rice, and organic rice.
Im Rachna, an undersecretary of state and spokesperson for Cambodia’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, emphasised China’s role as a key market for Cambodian agricultural products.
