Canada is the biggest importer of the Egyptian building materials, capturing 16.4 percent of Egypt’s total exports of this sector, a report by the Egyptian General Organization for Export & Import Control (GOEIC) revealed Wednesday.
The Canadian imports of Egypt’s building materials had recorded 2.6 billion Egyptian pounds (US$ 323.5 million) during the period from January to September 2015.
The GOEIC’s report further showed that Italy ranked second with imports worth 1.9 billion pounds, followed by Saudi Arabia with 1.7 billion pounds, Algeria with 755 million pounds, and Jordan with 674 million pounds.
Egypt’s exports of building materials stood at 16 billion pounds in the first nine months of 2015, compared to 19.9 billion pounds in the same period last year.
