Egypt’s Industrial Production Index (without crude oil and petroleum products) decreased 13.8 percent in April 2015, compared to March 2015, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) reported on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the total index for the manufacture of fabricated metal products, except for machinery and equipment, reached 90.98 in April 2015, compared to 117.09 in March 2015, a decrease of 22.3 percent, due to a change in the production line for one of the bigger companies, CAPMAS said.
Moreover, the total index for the manufacture of computers, electronics and optical products reached 235.94 in April 2015, compared to 375.70 in March 2015, which is a decrease of 37.2 percent, due to the stop of production lines for maintenance and the non-availability of raw materials, CAPMAS added.
At the same time, the total index for the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers reached 289.43 in April 2015, compared to 349.95 in March 2015, a decrease of 17.3% due to the stop in prodcution for one of the companies for maintenance, CAPMAS showed.
