CBE, Baheya Foundation launch new initiative for women in banking
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and Baheya Foundation have joined forces to launch Sehetak Amana (Your Health is a Commitment) Initiative that prioritises the health of women in the banking sector.
According to a CBE statement, the initiative will provide early detection service and free treatment of breast cancer among female employees within the banking sector. It also offers offers support programmes and health awareness seminars to emphasise the significance of the early detection of breast cancer.
The initiative aligns with Egypt’s national strategy for the empowerment of egyptian women 2030, which prioritises women’s healthcare.
“The initiative comes as a part of the CBE’s commitment to support and empower all segments of society, with the Egyptian women at the forefront of its priorities.” Ghada Tawfik, Advisor to CBE Governor for corporate social responsibility, said.
Tawfik further said that the first phase of the initiative was launched few weeks ago, and included the provision of medical checkups for CBE female employees from the CBE.
The central bank plans to expand this initiative to cover all women in the banking sector, she added.
This new collaboration with the CBE is the first step towards expanding awareness about early detection of breast cancer, said CEO Jaylan Ahmed.
