Egyptian Banking Sector’s investments in treasury bills registered EGP 357.05 billion at the end of March, up from EGP 356 billion at the end of December 2011, with an increase of EGP 1.057 billion in the third quarter of the current fiscal year.
According to Central Bank of Egypt’s latest report, banks’ investments in 91-day treasury bills retreated by EGP 2.7 billion, registering 23.7 billion at the end of March, down from EGP 26.5 billion at the end of December.
Banks’ investments in 182-day treasury bills rose to EGP 86.47 billion at the end of March, up from EGP 73.8 billion at the end of December.
Banks’ investments in 364-day treasury bills rose to EGP 73.6 billion, up from EGP 64.08 billion at the end of the last year.
