CBE’s Abdalla says Grand Egyptian Museum embodies country’s sustainable growth vision

Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Governor Hassan Abdalla said the historic opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum marks a defining moment in the country’s modern history, reflecting Egypt’s long-term vision for sustainable development that bridges culture and the economy.

In a statement on Saturday, Abdalla described the museum’s inauguration as “a moment of pride for every Egyptian” and “a beacon to the strength of the Egyptian state and its ability to blend the authenticity of its heritage with the aspirations of its future.

He said the new cultural landmark Egypt’s comprehensive vision for construction and sustainable development — one that extends “from culture to economy,” reaffirming the country’s enduring place among nations.

The central bank and Egypt’s banking sector, Abdalla added, remain committed to supporting the government’s broader efforts to advance sustainable development and “shape a future worthy of the greatness and legacy of the Egyptian civilisation.”

The Grand Egyptian Museum, located near the Giza Pyramids, was inaugurated on Saturday in a high-profile ceremony attended by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, foreign leaders, and dignitaries from around the world.
