Egypt and China have signed Monday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop digital, trade, and industrial projects between the two countries.
The MoU was signed by Li Pumin, secretary general of China’s National Development and Reform Commission, and Yasser El-Kady, Egyptian minister of communications and information technology.
The memo aims at setting up a database for e-commerce and investment as well as developing digital cooperation through “Online Silk Road,” a new program that seeks to link Egyptian cities with their Chinese counterparts.
Also on Monday, Li and officials from Egypt’s ministry of environment signed another MoU to boost mutual cooperation on environmental issues.
