China fully confident in meeting 2024 growth target – Xi

Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed strong confidence on Tuesday that China would meet its 2024 economic growth target, reaffirming the country’s position as a key driver of global economic growth.

He also emphasised China’s role as the world’s largest economic engine. He also called for cooperation with the United States, the world’s largest economy, stressing that tariff wars, trade wars, and technology wars yield no winners, according to Chinese state media.

China has set a 2024 growth target of approximately 5 per cent, signaling its commitment to economic stability and expansion amid global uncertainties. Xi’s remarks come as China continues to navigate challenges in global trade relations while seeking to sustain its economic momentum.
