Trade turnover between China and Russia grew by 2.1 per cent year-on-year in the first 11 months of 2024, reaching $222.77 billion, according to China’s General Administration of Customs.
China’s imports from Russia totalled $104.19 billion, up 4 per cent year-on-year, driven primarily by energy exports such as oil, natural gas, and coal. Russian exports also included metals, timber, seafood, and agricultural products.
Meanwhile, China’s exports to Russia amounted to $118.57 billion, marking a modest 0.4 per cent increase. Key exports included cars, tractors, computers, smartphones, industrial equipment, and consumer goods like toys and footwear.
This follows record-high trade turnover in 2023, which reached $240.11 billion, a 26.3 per cent rise from the previous year.
