China targets 130 million metric ton CO2 cut in new action plan
China unveiled its 2024-2025 carbon reduction action plan on Wednesday, targeting a reduction of approximately 130 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions in key areas over the two years, Reuters reported.
The plan also aims to cut energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP by about 2.5 per cent and 3.9 per cent, respectively, in 2024.
