China warns EU over separate EV price negotiations
China called on Saturday the European Union (EU) not to hold separate price negotiations for Chinese-made electric vehicles (EVs) sold in the EU.
It warned that such moves would “shake the foundations” of bilateral tariff talks, according to a statement by China’s Ministry of Commerce.
The warning follows Brussels’ rejection of a Chinese proposal to set a minimum price of €30,000 ($32,000) for EVs imported into the bloc.
China’s ministry emphasised that any separate talks could undermine mutual trust and hinder progress in the overall negotiation process.
