China’s commercial vehicle market saw a significant boost in the first quarter (Q1) of 2024, with sales surging 10.1 per cent year-on-year, Xinhua reported on Sunday, citing China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
As per the report a total of 1.03 million commercial vehicles sold during the period. Trucks, the workhorses of the industry, led the charge with sales reaching 919,000 units, reflecting a 9.7 per cent year-on-year increase.
Meanwhile, the coach segment witnessed an even stronger performance, with sales climbing 13.6 per cent year-on-year to reach 114,000 units.
The positive trend extends beyond domestic sales. China’s commercial vehicle exports also experienced a robust increase, with a remarkable 27.5 per cent year-on-year jump, reaching a total of 214,000 units exported in Q1 2024.
