China’s external financial assets reach $9.79t by mid-’24
China’s external financial assets stood at $9792.9 billion by the end of June 2024, while external financial liabilities were at $6804.6 billion, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) said in a report on Tuesday. This brought the net external assets to reach $2988.3 billion.
In SDR terms, China’s external financial assets and liabilities were SDR 7445.1 billion and SDR 5173.3 billion, respectively, with external net assets totalling SDR 2271.9 billion by the end of June 2024.
