China’s logistics index continued its growth surge in April, rising 0.9 points to 52.4 per cent, reflecting a nationwide rebound in demand, Xinhua reported on Sunday citing data from China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing.
He Hui, CFLP’s chief economist, attributed the growth to a significant rise in demand alongside heightened activity across the entire supply chain.
This is further evidenced by positive trends in sub-indices measuring business volume, new orders, equipment utilisation, and employment levels.
He further noted that sub-indices reflecting business expectations have remained in the expansion zone for three consecutive months.
This signifies a solidifying foundation for continued improvement in the overall health of China’s logistics industry.
