China’s natural gas production soars to 63.2b m3 in Q1

China’s domestic natural gas production shattered records of 63.2 billion cubic metres during the January-March period, marking a significant 5.2 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2023, Xinhua reported on Sunday.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) data revealed a strong 22.8 per cent year-on-year growth in natural gas imports during Q1, reflecting a total of 32.79 million tons of natural gas imported in the first three months of 2024.
