The Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) announced a contribution of $7 million to help the government in its efforts to stem the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
The donation has been directed towards providing coronavirus testing kits, supporting the most vulnerable families affected by the pandemic, and contributing to the national fund for emergencies and crises, CIB’s chairman Hisham Ezz Al-Arab said.
In addition, the bank also donated $250,000 to support the African Union’s COVID19 Response Fund.
It is noteworthy to mention that Egypt’s COVID-19 cases reached 8,964 after the Ministry of Health confirmed the detection of 488 new cases on Saturday.
