Coca-Cola Egypt is planning to invest EGP 1 billion during 2020

Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Egypt (Coca-Cola Egypt) is planning to invest 1 billion Egyptian pounds ($61.8 million) during 2020 to expand production capacity and increase sales outlets, according to its CEO Ahmed Elafifi.

Elafifi said in a meeting with Egypt’s General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) chairman Mohamed Abdel Wahab that the company is seeking to pump investments of 5 billion Egyptian pounds over the coming five years.

The company has developed 100 of the neediest villages in the country, he highlighted.

During the coronavirus crisis, the beverage manufacturer launched an initiative to support 10,000 of the company’s affected clients, El Afifi remarked.

Coca-Cola said in November that it planned to spend $ 500 mn on its Egypt operations over the coming three years after investing $ 500 mn between 2016 and 2019
