The total incomes of the companies, which work in communications and information technology sector, amounted to EGP 12.18 billion in Q1 of 2012, while the GDP with fixed prices of communications and information technology reached EGP 9.02 billion.
The sector’s exports went up in Q1 of 2012 to EGP 9 billion.
The sector of communications and information technology saw 9.5% GDP with fixed prices. So the sector contributed 4.31% to the GDP, and EGP 13.59 billion to the state’s budget in 2011.
The sector also contributed 6.04% to the total implemented investments, with the number of operating companies, 4613 ones; achieving 15.04% annual growth rate , and total capitals of EGP 45.46 billion.
A report issued in Q1 of 2012 around the sector of communications and information technology explained that the number of the direct employment in the sector is 214.45 employees.
