A UN delegation and a group of Japanese officials visit today a number of labour-intensive projects in Egypt’s Faiyum governorate.
A delegation from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in addition to representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Cairo have visited on Tuesday labour-intensive projects run by Egypt’s Social Fund for Development (SFD) in Faiyum governorate. The UNDP delegation was headed by Anita Nirody – UN Resident Coordinator in Egypt.
The visit aims to follow up the developments in the second phase of the Intensive Public Works programmes which are carried out by the SFD and generously funded by the Supplementary Budget of the Government of Japan and under the UNDP’s supervision.
