Egyptian journalist and “Al Shaab Yourid” talk show host, Dina Abdel Fattah, resigned, on the 24th of February 2013, from Al Tahrir channel in protest to violation of freedom of speech.
The persistent TV presenter was unable to continue hosting her program professionally and independently amid the continuous interference and restrictions imposed by Al Tahrir channel provocative policies.
“The severe restrictions imposed on the media will mark the end of the sector’s professionalism,” Abdel Fattah said.
The lack of support witnessed from Al Tahrir channel amid Abdel Fattah investigation pushed the prominent TV anchor to temporarily halt her talk show in the beginning of February 2013.
Charges brought against Abdel Fattah by the Shura Council, after hosting Black Block members in “Al Shaab Yourid.” Shura Council lawsuit no. 1574 for 2013 filed against Abdel Fattah to Egyptian Prosecutor -General for promoting terrorism and activities serve to endanger the state’s internal security.
Abdel Fattah has over 15 years of experience spanning in the media sector. The prominent journalist is the founder the first Arabic specialized economic monthly magazine “Amwal Al Ghad.” Abdel Fattah was the Deputy Editor in Chief and founder “banks and financial institutions” economic insert in Akhbar Al Youm Newspaper.
