Dollar edges slightly up against Egyptian pound in midday trading – 11 March, 2026

The US dollar edged slightly higher against the Egyptian pound during midday trading on Wednesday, 11 March, 2026, averaging around 51.92 pounds across major banks as of 12:05 p.m. Cairo time (10:05 GMT).

Data from leading lenders showed the dollar trading within a narrow range of 51.80 to 52.06 pounds, reflecting relatively steady demand for the US currency in the local market.

Exchange rates at several of Egypt’s major banks were as follows:

Bank Buy (EGP/USD) Sell (EGP/USD)
National Bank of Egypt (NBE) 51.88 51.98
Banque Misr 51.85 51.95
Commercial International Bank (CIB) 51.8 51.9
QNB Alahli 51.8700 51.9700
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) 51.9600 52.0600

The modest uptick comes as the Egyptian pound continues to move within a relatively stable band against the dollar, following the country’s shift to a more flexible exchange rate regime earlier in March 2024.
