Dollar hovers near EGP 54.71 in midday trade against Egyptian pound – 31 March, 2026
The US dollar held broadly steady against the Egyptian pound in midday trading on Tuesday, hovering around an average of 54.71 pounds for buying and 54.81 pounds for selling across major banks as of 12:11 Cairo time (10:11 GMT).
Data from leading lenders showed the greenback moving within a narrow range of 54.57 to 54.80 pounds for buying and 54.67 to 54.90 pounds for selling, signalling relatively stable demand for foreign currency in the local market.
