The US dollar traded in a narrow and mixed range against the Egyptian pound during midday dealings on Sunday, with slight variations across major banks.
As of 12:46 Cairo time (10:46 GMT), the dollar averaged 54.38 pounds for buying and 54.48 pounds for selling, based on data compiled from leading lenders.
Exchange rates at several of Egypt’s largest banks were as follows:
| Bank | Buy (EGP/USD) | Sell (EGP/USD) |
| National Bank of Egypt (NBE) | 54.4 | 54.5 |
| Banque Misr | 54.3 | 54.4 |
| Commercial International Bank (CIB) | 54.38 | 54.48 |
| QNB Alahli | 54.4000 | 54.5000 |
| Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) | 54.4300 | 54.5300 |
The Egyptian pound has been trading within a relatively tight band in recent sessions, following the country’s move to a more flexible exchange rate regime in March 2024.
