ECHEM, Axens explore petrochemical collaboration at EGYPES 2025

The Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM) and France’s Axens discussed potential partnerships in petrochemical projects during a meeting at the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2025).

Ibrahim Mekky, ECHEM chairman, met with Quentin Debuisschert, chairman and CEO of Axens, to explore avenues for future cooperation. Discussions centered on Axens’ potential role as a licensor for production technologies in the Red Sea Company project, as well as its contribution to the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) initiative.

Both sides emphasised the importance of enhancing production capacity and integrating sustainable solutions within the petrochemical sector. The meeting marked a significant step in strengthening strategic partnerships and advancing sustainable development efforts.
