EDA, Uzbekistan explore drug industry ties

Egypt’s Drug Authority (EDA) Chairman Ali El-Ghamrawy and Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Egypt Mansurbek Kilichev have discussed cooperation and expanding pharmaceutical markets, the Cabinet announced on Tuesday.

They also considered building a long-term strategic partnership aimed at boosting pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities and strengthening technical and regulatory cooperation, the statement added.

Discussions included opportunities in registering, manufacturing, and exporting pharmaceutical products, as well as ways for Uzbekistan to benefit from EDA’s regulatory and technical expertise. Both parties committed to expanding technical exchanges and enhancing the sector in both nations.

Kilichev commended EDA’s regulatory and professional advancements and expressed Uzbekistan’s interest in learning from Egypt’s experience in pharmaceutical exports. He also stated that he would explore the Egyptian Drug Store platform for international marketing and distribution, as well as opportunities for research collaboration, expert exchanges, and enhancing bilateral trade in pharmaceuticals.
