The Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority’s (EFSA) report showed that the number of insurance brokerage companies reached 36 in June 2012. The number of insurance brokers reached 6211 in July, compared to 6157 in June.
In pursuant to act no.10 of 1981 and its executive regulations for insurance control and supervision in Egypt, 64 insurance brokers were registered and 55 insurance brokers were written off in July.
The number of inspection and risk management experts reached 516 in June as EFSA wrote off 8 experts, registered two new experts and re-registered an expert. There are 11 insurance consulting companies, 300 insurance consulting experts and 20 actuarial experts.
EFSA issued 29 decrees concerning amending the main systems of 17 insurance funds in July, compared to 22 decrees concerning amending the main systems of 13 insurance funds in June. Three new insurance funds were registered in July.
