The Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA) has received 43 complaints against insurance companies and government insurance funds in October, compared to EGP 33 complaints in September.
48.8% of complaints were against non-life insurance companies, 34.9% against life insurance companies and 16.3% against government insurance funds.
Supplemental motor insurance sector accounted for 47% and compulsory motor insurance sector accounted for 38% of complaints submitted by holders of non-life insurance policies.
There were 21 complaints against non-life insurance sector, 15 complaints against life insurance sector and seven complaints against government insurance funds.
81 complaints were concluded in October; of which 41% were in favor of the customers, 57% were in favor of the insurers and 2% were dismissed for lack of jurisdiction.
