Egypt’s EGAS, Eni, TotalEnergies sign Cronos field handling agreement

The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) on Tuesday signed an agreement with Eni and TotalEnergies covering the handling, processing, and transport of gas from Cyprus’s Cronos field, the petroleum ministry said in a statement.

The signing took place on the sidelines of the Eastern Mediterranean Energy Conference and Exhibition (EMC) in Limassol, Cyprus.

The agreement was signed by Mahmoud Abdelhamid, Chairman of EGAS; Francesco Gasparri, General Manager of Eni’s Egyptian subsidiary (IEOC); Alessandro Gelmetti, Managing Director of Eni Cyprus Ltd; and Pascal Breant, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Egypt and Cyprus.

The deal builds on earlier commercial and tariff agreements signed between Egypt, Cyprus, Eni, and TotalEnergies, paving the way to transport Cypriot gas to Egypt’s facilities for processing and liquefaction ahead of export to global markets.
