The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has ended Wednesday’s sessions posting gains of EGP 3.7 billion backed by local buyers. The capital market has reached to EGP 374.115 billion during Wednesday’s closing.
The EGX indices closed in green.
The main index, EGX30 climbed by 1.47% to end at 5576.01 p. EGX20 pushed up by 1.48 % to close 6423.85 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 surged by 1.46% to conclude at 457.54 pts. Price index EGX100 inched up 1.25% to finish at 780.77 p.
During Wednesday’s closing, the trading volume has reached 57.917 million securities worth EGP 273.468 million, exchanged 13.499 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 166 listed securities; 16 declined, 126 advanced; while 24 keeping their previous levels.
EGX’s closing gains were backed by Egyptians’ buying transactions as they were net buyers seizing 61.38% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 18.995 million excluding the deals.
Meanwhile, the non-Arab foreigners and Arabs were net sellers seizing 32.88% and 5.74% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 18.778 million and EGP 216.426 thousand excluding the deals.
