During Wednesday opening session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has posted early remarkable gains of EGP 4 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 397.882 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 10:55 a.m. Cairo time (08:55 GMT).
EGX indices opened green.
The main index, EGX30 soared by 1.56% to hit 5804.24 p. EGX20 surged by 1.47% to reach 6776.59 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 pushed up by 1.03% to hit 533.95 pts. Price index EGX100 climbed by 1.20% to reach 886.15 p.
Traded volume reached 7.223 million securities worth EGP 27.170 million, exchanged through 1.220 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 89 listed securities; 3 declined 64 advanced while 22 keeping their previous levels.
EGX’s early gains were backed by the Arabs’ buying deals.
Arabs were net buyers seizing 6.58% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 2.879 million excluding the deals.
On the other hand, Egyptians and non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 80.93% and 12.49% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 2.134 million and EGP 744.781 thousand excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX’s leading shares witnessed early upwards.
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:
Trading has been suspended for Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA)’s stock as it jumped by 8.93% to hit EGP 0.61.
Citadel Capital:
Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA)’s stock soared by 3.18% to reach EGP 4.22.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) hiked by 3.04% to reach EGP 3.73.
EFG-Hermes:
EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) boomed by 2.09% to hit EGP 12.22.
Orascom Construction Industries:
Orascom Construction Industries – OCI (OCIC.CA)’s stock inched higher by 2.05% to hit EGP 272.00.
