During Thursday opening session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has posted early losses of EGP 174 million as the capital market has amounted to EGP 356.813 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 10:53 a.m. Cairo time (08:53 GMT).
The main index, EGX30 tumbled 0.19% to hit 5152.02 p. EGX20 fell by 0.25% to reach 5984.37 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 inched higher 0.47% to hit 461.89 p. Price index EGX100 increased by 0.37% to reach 793.32 p.
Traded volume reached 6.566 million securities worth EGP 11.376 million, exchanged 791 transactions.
This was after trading in 65 listed securities; 9 declined 42 advanced while 14 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians and non-Arab Foreigners were net buyers seizing 83% and 9.24% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 486.026 thousand and EGP 1.107 million excluding the deals.
On the other hand, Arabs were net sellers seizing 7.76% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 621.191 thousand excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective downwards except for the shares of EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) which went up by 0.79% to hit EGP 11.43 and of Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA) which surged by 0.32% to reach EGP 3.13.
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:
Shares of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) led EGX early downwards as they dived by 8.77% to hit EGP 0.52.
Talaat Moustafa Group:
Talaat Moustafa Group (TMGH.CA) slumped by 0.89% to reach EGP 4.46.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) went down by 0.28% to hit EGP 3.57.
Orascom Construction Industries:
Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) inched lower by 0.17% to hit EGP 274.47.
Commercial International Bank:
The shares of Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) dropped by 0.14% to reach EGP 28.61.
