During Monday opening session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has posted early losses of EGP 700 million as the capital market has reach EGP 335.607 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 09:08 GMT (11:08 a.m. in Cairo.
The main index, EGX30 inched lower 0.31% to hit 4704.2 p. EGX20 sank 0.75% to reach 5322.65 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 inched higher 0.30% to hit 419.22 p. Price index EGX100 edged up 0.14% to reach 720.65 p.
Traded volume reached 2.130 million securities worth EGP 6.340 million, exchanged through 671 transactions.
This was after trading in 57 listed securities; 13 declined 30 advanced while 14 keeping their previous levels.
The main reason behind EGX 30’s early fall was that Egyptians were net sellers seizing 82.1% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 369.553 thousand excluding the deals.
On the other hand, the non-Arab Foreigners and Arabs were net buyers seizing 13.61% and 4.29% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 213.230 thousand and EGP 156.323 thousand excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective upwards except for the shares owned by Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) which tumbled 9.46% to hit EGP 1.34.
Talaat Moustafa Group:
The shares of Talaat Moustafa Group (TMGH.CA) climbed 1.57% to reach EGP 3.89.
Commercial International Bank:
The shares owned by Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) went up .82% to reach EGP 28.34.
EFG-Hermes Holding:
The shares of EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) inched higher 0.38% to hit EGP 10.70.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
The shares owned by Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) edged up 0.32% to reach EGP 3.15.
Orascom Construction Industries:
The shares of Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) rose by 0.08% to hit EGP 250.00.
