The Egyptian Exchange has posted gains of EGP 1.4 billion during Thursday’s midday session backed by local buyers.
The capital market has amounted to EGP 359.674 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English between at 12:18 p.m. Cairo time (10:18 GMT) during Thursday’s midday session.
The EGX indices were in green notes during the midday session.
Benchmark EGX30 inched up by 0.71% to 5200.26 p; while EGX20 rose by 0.44% to 5985.16 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 edged up by 0.57% to 450.87 p. Price index EGX100 went up by 0.77% to 752.69 p.
During Thursday’s midday session, the trading volume has reached 43.681 million securities worth EGP 141.196 million, exchanged 6.451 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 134 listed securities; 18 declined, 68 advanced; while 48 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians’ buying transactions have backed EGX’s midday gains as they were net buyers seizing 56.77% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 4.132 million excluding the deals.
Meanwhile, the non-Arab foreigners and Arabs were net sellers seizing 39.83% and 3.4% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 3.168 million and EGP 946.463 thousand excluding the deals.
