The Egyptian Exchange has posted midday gains of EGP 1.08 billion backed by Arab buyers on Wednesday. The capital market has amounted to EGP 363.038 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 13:40 p.m. Cairo time (11:40 GMT) during Wednesday’s midday session.
The EGX indices were in green notes during the midday session.
Benchmark EGX30 inched up by 0.47% to 5266.02 p; while EGX20 rose by 0.25% to 6204.5 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 increased by 0.38 % to 452.71 p. Price index EGX100 edged up by 0.37% to 764.32 p.
This was after trading in 153 listed securities; 36 declined, 78 advanced; while 39 keeping their previous levels.
During Wednesday’s midday session, the trading volume has reached 71.169 million securities worth EGP 279.489 million, exchanged 11.179 thousand transactions.
EGX midday gains were backed by Arab buying transactions as they were net buyers seizing 15.55% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 67.724 million excluding the deals.
Meanwhile, Egyptians and non-Arab foreigners were net sellers 47.08% and 37.37% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 16.645 million and EGP 51.078 million excluding the deals.
