During Tuesday opening session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has posted early gains of EGP 1.97 billion as the capital market has reach EGP 332.864 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 09:03 GMT (11:03 a.m. in Cairo). Worth mentioning, EGX has decided at 08:30 GMT to deduct about EGP 6 billion from Monday’s capital market for Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA)’s dividend.
Orascom Telecom Media will distribute a dividend of 1.05 pounds a share July 19 after the sale of most of its stake in Egyptian Co. for Mobile Services to France Telecom SA (FTE) earlier this year.
The main index, EGX30 climbed 1.14% to hit 4794.74 p. EGX20 jumped 1.63% to reach 5467.92 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 inched higher 0.03% to hit 417.66 p. Price index EGX100 edged up 0.38% to reach 723.35 p.
Traded volume reached 4.332 million securities worth EGP 18.815 million, exchanged through 909 transactions.
This was after trading in 58 listed securities; 8 declined 41 advanced while 9 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians and non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 63.99% and 26.48% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 455.397 thousand and EGP 1.268 million excluding the deals.
On the other hand, Arabs were net buyers seizing 9.52% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 1.724 million excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective upwards led by the shares of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) which jumped 10.00% to hit EGP 0.44.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
The shares of Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) soared 3.18% to reach EGP 3.24.
Commercial International Bank:
The shares owned by Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) climbed 1.83% to hit EGP 28.99. Egypt’s Finance Ministry said Monday it plans to change its debt issuance strategy to focus on longer-maturity securities. Local banks have been the biggest buyers of the debt since the start of last year’s revolution.
EFG-Hermes Holding:
The shares of EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) surged 1.49% to reach EGP 10.92.
Talaat Moustafa Group:
The shares of Talaat Moustafa Group (TMGH.CA) edged up 1.29% to hit EGP 3.94.
Orascom Construction Industries:
The shares of Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) rose by 0.52% to reach EGP 252.00.
