During Tuesday early session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has posted gains of 894 million as the capital market has amounted to EGP 336.161 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 11:02 a.m. (09:02 GMT).
The main index, EGX30 went up 0.22% to hit 4708.67 p. EGX20 climbed 1.44% to reach 5462.86 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 sagged 0.18% to hit 417.28 p. Price index EGX100 edged up 0.03% to reach 716.29 p.
Traded volume reached 5.536 million securities worth 25.006 million, exchanged through 1.331 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 73 listed securities; 23 declined and 35 advanced while 15 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 63.22% and 5.21% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 8.125 million and EGP 339.131 thousand excluding the deals.
On the other hand, the non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 31.58% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 8.464 million excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective upwards except for shares of Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) which sank by 2.00% to reach EGP 27.00.
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:
The shares of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) have led EGX’s early upwards as they soared 9.80% to hit EGP 1.68.
EFG-Hermes Holding:
The shares of EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) climbed 2.36% to reach EGP 10.85. The trial of EFG-Hermes Holding SAE (HRHO.CA)’s co-Chief Executive Officers Hassan Heikal and Yasser El Mallawany on charges of market manipulation started Monday; the Court was adjourned until July 14.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
The shares owned by Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) inched higher 1.60% to reach EGP 3.17.
Talaat Moustafa Group:
The shares of Talaat Moustafa Group (TMGH.CA) have rebounded 0.25% to reach EGP 4.00.
TMG shares poised Monday for the biggest drop since March 2011 after the panel of judges had recommended Sunday the annulment of a revised contract that allowed the government to sell a plot of land to Egypt’s biggest publicly traded real estate developer for its Madinaty project.
Orascom Construction Industries:
Shares of Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) went up 0.11% to hit EGP 247.05.
